John Lynch, Writer for Hire – Samples of Previous Work
I completed my first freelance assignment in 1989, so I could fill this page with a huge number of examples of my work and I don’t think that would be helpful. Here’s an assortment of some of the things I’ve done. You can find a more complete portfolio online as a flipbook here.
Full length books, training courses and video scripts
When British Coal was being privatised, they formed British Coal Enterprise to help redundant workers at all levels find new employment. They employed me on a number of individual writer-for-hire contracts. I wrote training courses and scripts for a number of videos; I also wrote The Career Development Handbook and Making and Taking Career Changes; the latter (ISBN 1 85557 003 3)was given to all leavers but also did well in bookstore sales to the public. The cover of Making and Taking Career Changes is here and a sample page from the book is here.
Back in 1990 I wrote Managing the High Tech Salesforce, (ISBN 9 78185 058 1253) because that was what I had been doing with my life to that point. Here’s the cover. More recently, I wrote The International Sales Handbook (ISBN 978 1 910194 05 8). The cover’s here and this is the first page of Chapter 1.
Some other pieces, in this case showing only the text and not the final published piece, are collected here.
